Catskill Chocolate Co.: The Sweetest Shop in the Village
Catskill Chocolate Co., located on Main Street in the Village of Catskill, has the best truffles in town, but it’s so much more than a chocolate shop. Serving handmade candy, coffee, tea, espresso, pastries, and gelato, it’s a perfect spot for a quiet coffee and a treat, and it’s my go-to when I want to bring home a gift from the Catskills for a friend or just for myself.
Catskill Chocolate Co. has plenty of sweet gifts to take home, plus gorgeous painted floors, tin ceilings, and a smiling staff.
The folks at Catskill Chocolate Co. captured the old-timey elegance of their corner storefront with tin ceilings, gorgeous flooring, and antiques. They just opened in the spring of 2022, but they’ve created a space that feels like it’s been around forever.
At Catskill Chocolate Co., the pastry chef is constantly reinventing the lemon bar.
An ever-changing array of sweets show up on their countertops (and in the mouth-watering @catskill_chocolate_co Instagram feed). On any given day, you might find a lemon-poppy bar sprinkled with dried rose petals (pictured above), or a lime-basil bar with a graham cracker crust.

At their espresso bar, they’ve currently got cold summertime drinks on special. When we stopped by, they were serving fresh and floral iced lilac lattes and peachy iced green tea.

In addition to chocolate, candies, pastries, cookies, and cakes, Catskill Chocolate has recently started serving homemade gelato with flavors that range from old standards like chocolate, coffee, and mint-chocolate-chip to their own specialties like lemon-almond, malted-chocolate-pretzel, and buttermilk.
Catskill Chocolate company has outdoor seating, indoor seating, and plenty of room to browse.
Around the center column of the shop, a table is filled with ready-to-gift goodies. My daughter felt that the marble-painted butterfly cookies were too pretty to eat, but we happily brought home a bag of rainbow-sprinkled nonpareils, some adorable house-made candy buttons, and the most delicious gummy coins, which I rationed carefully and kept stashed in my purse for a couple of weeks to follow. We need to go back for more!
