Crossroads Brewing Company: Beer Flights at the Catskill Taproom
Crossroads Brewing Company's Catskill Taproom offers a new creek-side retreat from one of the area's long-loved brewers. Crossroads has operated its flagship brew pub out of Athens, NY since 2010, and their second location, opened in 2017, has a more modern and industrial feel, seating for over 60 people, and plenty of pints, growlers, cans, and flights to go around.
The airy, high-ceiling space is filled with natural light. We grabbed a couple of seats at the long bar and ordered a flight to sample 6 of the 10 Crossroads beers on tap. Our favorites were smooth, creamy Kool Beans Imperial Milkshake Stout, made with coffee and coconuts, and the toasty, malty Brick Row Red Ale. For cider drinkers, a couple of taps were reserved for local cideries, Altamount's Indian Ladder and Albany's Nine Pin.
The taproom doesn't serve food, but according to Hudson Valley magazine, food deliveries are encouraged and they may get food truck visits in the future. The Crossroads Taproom sits right on the Catskill Creek, and we'll definitely be back to check out the scene once the weather warms up.
Crossroads Brewing Company's Catskills Taproom is located at 201 Water Street in Catskill, NY; 518-444-8277.
