Peace, Love & Cupcakes: Woodstock’s Sweetest Treats
All I really want in life is peace, love, and a tie-dye vanilla cupcake with tie-dye buttercream frosting (pictured above). Actually, no. Make that a Blood, Sweat, and Tears cupcake. I love that fudgy brownie cake with a sweet-salty peanut butter swirl, crowned with a swirl of double-fudge frosting.
Wait, I changed my mind. I think I need the Joe Cocker cupcake, the one with vanilla bean butter cake, topped with caramel buttercream, a drizzle of caramel, and sprinkle of sea salt.
Actually, I’ll just take all 3—plus a Pretzel Hippie Chipper Cookie Sandwich on the side, since they’re pretty much my favorite thing ever. They don’t photograph as well as the cupcakes, but imagine the deliciousness 2 chocolate chip-pretzel cookies sandwiching a generous layer of pretzel-peanut butter cream. The whole affair is rolled in chocolate sprinkles. It’s ridiculous.
This little treasure trove of a bake shop is tucked into one of those little alleys that makes the town of Woodstock such a fun place to explore. Follow the cheerful pink signs, and bring back an extra cookie sandwich for me.
Peace, Love & Cupcakes is located at 54F Tinker Street (across from Woodstock Photography Center and down Cupcake Lane). Store hours are generally Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 6pm, or until they sell out, but you can always call in an order with 3 days notice for any day of the week for pick-up at the shop: 845-247-3687.
