Winter Essential: Irish Style Lemon Honey
It's rich and sweet, aromatic and citrusy. It's a locally-made cold remedy. It turns a basic hot toddy into a steamy elixir. It's another reason to visit Heather Ridge Farm: Irish Style Lemon Honey. (If you're reading from afar, you can also buy it online.)
Made with the farm's own raw honey and "a touch of natural lemon oil," it really brightens up a cup of tea on a dark winter day. I love the idea of basting a roasted chicken with lemon honey, or drizzling it over breaded chicken cutlets. Or roasted Brussels sprouts. Or buttermilk biscuits. (These links lead to 3 of my favorite go-to recipes. Lemon honey might send them all over the top.)
Honestly, I could eat this stuff with a spoon, but I'm trying to practice moderation. Also worth noting: I'm concerned that I'm starting to sound like an ad for Heather Ridge Farm, but I don't have any secret sponsorships here. I just love this magical place. I'm looking to explore more spots as the weather warms up -- especially hidden gems in the area. If you have any ideas, please leave a comment here or message me on Facebook.
The Heather Ridge Farm store is located at 989 Broome Center Road, Preston Hollow, NY; 518-239-6234, and their Irish Style Lemon Honey is available at their online store.
