Tomatoes of My Dreams
I've been dreaming about these tomatoes since last summer. We picked them up at East Durham Farms and decided they were too good to pile on our egg and cheese sandwiches. Instead, we cut them into wedges, sprinkled them with salt, and ate them with our fingers. So ripe, so sweet.
Since we didn't get our house until the end of last summer, we're looking forward to our first full season of farm-fresh produce upstate this year. I can't wait to share my favorite simple summer recipes for tomato-peach gazpacho, tomato-avocado-hummus toasts and Pete's super easy, party-ready pasta with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella and basil.
